HOT ! Dant \"Kingfisher\" Cap - Ecru x Black

So…where to begin. Ever had an idea that just hangs around in the back of your mind for weeks, months - even years? For us, it started at the beginning of the pandemic, when our little shop crew spent hours walking the city (there wasn’t much else to do). Right then, the bird migrations were in full swing. We downloaded an app, started tracking sightings, and before long, we were hooked. We’re bird people now.

Somewhere in the middle of it all, I got this idea: a series of birds with our logo beneath them. Nothing groundbreaking - just something fun. I was tired of feeling boxed into the heritage world, where a simple joy like putting a goofy bird on a t-shirt or hat felt out of bounds. Around the same time, we were deep in the store’s rebrand, and I knew I wanted to leave space for projects exactly like this.

Five years (and countless mental sketches) later, that little vision finally took flight. You’ve been asking for branded merch ever since we stopped printing it half a decade ago, and we couldn’t be happier to bring it back - this time in a way that mixes our new branding with a flock of happy birds we could only dream of before.

And this time, they\'re on hats made custom for us. These aren\'t stock...they\'re made in California to our exact specifications. We started with a Natural Seed Twill to match the t-shirts and added this gorgeous black brim, finishing it off with that perfect leather adjuster that ages incredibly. 

This second design features the Kingfisher - a bird that stopped us in our tracks the first time we heard its call along the river. They’re strikingly beautiful, with plumage that shifts between green and blue depending on the variation. For our design, we leaned into the more tropical tones to highlight the regal nature of a bird that carries both royal name and presence. It also happens to be the very first bird we put to paper, fitting since the Kingfisher has been a favorite since the start of our bird-watching journey.
