HOT ! Blue Antique Vintage Old Salvaged Reclaimed Victorian Style SOLID Wood Wooden Full Size Bed Frame Head Foot Board Headboard Pair

Lovely, antique, Victorian style head and foot board set salvaged from a recently demolished 1880\'s home in Forkston, PA (est. 1795, pop. 305). Although the home was that old, these pieces were made during the first half of the previous century. They\'re made of solid pine or Douglas Fir (no veneers), and are painted blue.

I\'m not sure how to categorize this bed\'s size. It accommodates a 51\"W mattress which is smaller than a standard full size (54\"W) but much bigger than a twin (38\"W). I did see on one site that a 48\"W mattress is considered a, \"small full size.\" This is bed is in between that and a standard full size. It could still accommodate a full size mattress, but you would have to use 2\" thick boards as slats instead of the usual 1\" thick boards. The box spring would hang 1 1/2\" over the side rails, which shouldn\'t be an issue.

Our carpenter thoroughly inspected the pieces and found no repairs to make, nor anything to reinforce. He pointed out that one of the legs had a split, but was repaired. He thought it was cute that whoever glued the bottom of one of the feet didn\'t have a clamp to keep leg tight while the glue dried so they just stuck a metal ring. Since the ring is stuck on so tightly and it\'s on one of the back legs which will not be noticeable, we left it on. If you don\'t want it, we could cut it off rather than prying it off--let us know if you want us to do this after you checkout.

Otherwise, the head and foot boards just have nicks, light scratches, and spots of worn paint--common wear for old used furniture. The small cracks or splits shown in the close up photo with the yellow arrows are just cosmetic blemishes and not structural threats. This set is strong, sturdy, and ready for a lifetime of service!
