Through a lifestyle almost autarky, these people have a very strong relationship with their traditions and their ancestral culture. Nestled in a mountainous region, the environment of Beni Ourain has a cold climate the most part of the year. As a result, these tribes have always made giant-sized rugs that serve as floor coverings in their homes and large tents. Today, the weavers of these Berber Beni Ourain rugs have adapted their products to smaller rugs to fit all interiors. In this region, the weaver occupies a central place in the tribal life, for the most of them it is the only source of income, Nowadays the rugs weaving gives women pride and dignity in a patriarchal society.
