Q: How do I collect my horsehair?A: Take the longest hairs from the middle of the tail, just below the tailbone. Cut two small amounts from different spots close to the tailbone.  The final bundle should be about the width of a pencil and at least 10 inches long. 

Secure the hair with a rubber band, then place it in a Ziploc bag and write your name, phone number, and order number on the outside. This lets us match your horsehair to your order and start creating your special keepsake!

Q: How do you size the bracelets?A: For the most accurate measurement, use a soft measuring tape or dental floss to measure your wrist. To determine your bracelet size, take your exact wrist measurement and add 1.25 inches.

This will be your finished bracelet length, including all hardware, ensuring a comfortable fit, not too tight, not too loose.

Q: How long does it take to receive my bracelet?A:  We begin crafting your bracelet as soon as your horsehair arrives. Your bracelet is typically completed within one week of receiving your horsehair. You’ll receive an email confirmation when it arrives.

Q: Can I have my bracelet made from more than one horse?A: Absolutely! We can blend hair from multiple horses into one bracelet. When placing your order, please let us know in the “Special Instructions For Tail Spin” box on the Cart page, if you’d like the different horsehair colors kept separate, blended, or as a chunky blend.

Q: What is the difference between the 3 strand and 4 stand braid styles?A: The 3-strand braid creates a flat braid, while the 4-strand braid forms a round braid.

Q: How do I care for my horsehair keepsake?A: Tail Spin keepsakes are crafted with care and durability using only the finest materials, we even wear ours every day! While they can get wet, we recommend removing them before swimming or showering. Many of our customers say they never take theirs off!

Q: Does the hair need to be washed before mailing?A: No worries, we’re proudly endorsed by Cowboy Magic and will wash and prepare your hair with their products! If the hair is excessively dirty, we do recommend giving it a quick pre-wash before mailing.
